ifttt.com overview from The Next Web on Vimeo.
There is a new craze hitting the web – ifttt… It doesn’t have a very catchy name, but that doesn’t make it any less of a demon when it comes to getting things done. What it does is all explained clearly on the home page – but it boils down to creating tasks that fit the simple structure: If this happens then do that. So THIS for example could be “if I am tagged in a photo on Facebook”.. and then the THAT, which is an action, could be “send me an email to let me know.”
It’s all made super easy by the channels they’ve created giving you click through access to most of the tools average Internet users use, and preset links to most of the things they use them for. Choose your trigger & a resulting action and your task is up and running. Or check the huge archives of 'recipes' already created by other members to set up complicated tasks with just a click. Who said programming computers was complicated?
