Setting up a business can be a costly venture, and at a time when you need all your capital to be working overtime, it’s nice to know some things in business are free – like SohoOS.com. This small business management platform puts all the tools you need to survive online, and for basic users the service is free, which might just give you the competitive edge you need. The interface, driven from a central dashboard, isn’t exactly a work of art and I found it a little slow at times. But it does what it needs to do and once you get used to finding your way around it shouldn’t cause too many problems. Of course there are premium options for more functionality & storage if you need it. Even with the free account you get your own custom URL, but I was pretty unimpressed with this - there are far better services providing a web presence at no cost. Altogether though, not a bad tool for small businesses – and it is still in beta so we can expect to see some improvements in the months ahead.
